Jonathan J. Fleming
Jonathan J. Fleming has been creating, financing, and running early stage companies in the life sciences for more than 36 years in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Today he manages his family office, Pimlico Pond Investments, which is active in the creation, funding, and advising of life sciences companies in healthcare, food, and environmental technology. He is currently chairman of the boards of directors of five life science companies that span neuroscience, drug discovery and delivery, digital health, and food.
During his career as a general partner or managing partner of institutional venture capital funds Jonathan raised more than $1 billion for early stage investment funds which made more than 200 investments in life science companies that resulted in more than 24 IPOs and more than 40 M&A transactions and resulted in numerous lifesaving products coming to patients.
Over his career, Jonathan has served as CEO of a neuroscience company, chaired numerous boards of directors, and served as a director of both public and private companies. He has participated in the creation of numerous companies and worked with six different Nobel Laureates in his career to create and build companies based on their work. Since 2004, Jonathan has been a senior lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he co-teaches the core course: Strategic Decision Making in the Life Sciences.
Jonathan holds an MPA from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and international Affairs and a BA in political science from the University of California, Berkeley.
