TDP43

TDP43 is a protein that regulates gene expression and the cell stress response through stress granules.

Normally TDP43 resides in the nucleus of the cell. In many ALS patients the TDP43 protein moves to the body of the cells where it starts to form toxic protein aggregates which can eventually lead to motor neuron degeneration. We have identified molecules that we think will counteract TDP43 toxicity through a selective and targeted approach which further improves safety.
