Erika Norabuena is a Senior Associate Scientist who brings experience in the field of human stem cell biology and neurodegenerative diseases. She graduated with honors in Biology from Mount Holyoke College and began her stem cell career at the Harvard Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology (HSCRB). While at HSCRB she participated in different projects where she used mouse and human stem cells to generate diverse neuronal populations for disease modeling and drug discovery. Later, she joined the ALS-Therapy Development Institute where she worked optimizing protocols to generate neuronal subtypes from ALS patient-iPSC. In addition, she implemented orthogonal assays to assess biological activity of hit compounds in iPSC-derived neurons harboring fALS mutations.
